Evyr is a videographer/producer with experience in department visual marketing and low-budget films. Her background in broadcast, production, and public relations assists in telling stories through a visual medium. Evyr is motivated by her passion for storytelling and understanding the multitude of methods in filmmaking. She considers herself an eternal student, as she’s open to learning about new ways to build on her filmmaking skill. She also loves to learn other new skills along the way, including language and graphic design.
Her drive for conveying compelling messages in her work contributed to one of her first projects with the Lakeland Fire Department. There, she produced a video called “Why Fire Engines and Firefighters Respond to Medical Calls,” which has garnered about 2 million views to date from across the country. Her next successful and personal favorite project centered around the women of LFD, entitled “Igniting Change: Women in the Fire Service." Through this project, she was able to learn more and tell the stories of the women who helped grow the path for others to join the fire service. While completing her Master's degree in Film Producing, she created a look into a local Korean language school titled "Learning through Language: The OKC Story," and worked with the school as a volunteer Social Media Manager.
Currently, she is the Social Media Specialist with the Lakeland Police Department, building on her skills in short-form video production as well as live video production. She grew the department’s Instagram platform by 4,000 within the first year and continues to maintain post and comment moderation across all platforms. She also launched the department’s first sets of Black History Month and Women’s History Month spotlights.
